Puzzmint Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 11, 2026. This policy explains what data Puzzmint's website and apps (the "Service") handle, and why. The short version: no account is required, your puzzle progress lives on your device, analytics are anonymous, and we never sell data.
What we collect
- Anonymous usage analytics. We use PostHog and Plausible to understand how the Service is used — events like "puzzle started", "puzzle completed", time-to-solve, and error counts. These are tied to a randomly generated anonymous identifier, not to your name, email, or account. Never the contents of a puzzle in progress.
- Puzzle progress, on your device. Your boards, streaks, theme choice, and settings are stored locally (browser storage or app storage). They stay on your device; we don't upload them, except the optional cross-device sync inside Telegram described below.
- Daily leaderboard entries. When you solve a ranked daily puzzle, we record the solve (time, mistake count, puzzle number) under your anonymous identifier so we can show you your daily rank. No name is attached unless a platform (like Telegram) provides one you already chose there.
- Email address, only if you join the waitlist. Used solely to contact you about Puzzmint. Unsubscribe anytime.
What we don't do
- No advertising, and no advertising trackers.
- No selling or renting of any data, ever.
- No account requirement, no password, no profile.
- No reading of your device contacts, location, photos, or anything outside the game.
Playing inside Telegram
If you open Puzzmint through the Telegram bot, Telegram provides the standard Web App context (including your Telegram user id and display name) so your solves can appear on the bot's leaderboard and your progress can sync across your own devices via Telegram's CloudStorage. That data is governed by Telegram's own privacy policy in addition to this one.
Where data lives
Analytics are processed by PostHog (US region) and Plausible (EU). Leaderboard solves and daily puzzles are served from our own backend. Your local progress never leaves your device except as described above.
Data retention and deletion
Local progress can be deleted at any time by clearing the site's browser data or uninstalling the app. Analytics identifiers are random and not linked to your identity; if you want any server-side record removed (for example a leaderboard entry or a waitlist email), email us and we'll delete it.
Children
Puzzmint is a logic-puzzle service suitable for general audiences. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children; there are no accounts, no chat, and no ads.
Changes to this policy
If our data practices change, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be called out on the site.
